Coming Spring 2018!

Admitted students may begin paying their bill for the fall 2018 term as early as March 2018

**NEW: You may now pay your bill in elective monthly installments with the CSU payment plan!

What are the benefits?

  • Pay your bill in easy monthly installments rather than in one lump sum due all at once
  • No-hassle withdrawals are automatically deducted each month from your designated domestic checking or savings account
  • Calculate your own monthly payment amount and timeframe with the payment estimator tool*
  • Pay tuition, university fees, and residence hall room and board charges billed to your CSU student account.
  • Adjust your payment amount at any time

How does it work?

CSU will withdraw the elected amount from your designated domestic checking or savings account between the third and the fifth of each month. Students and trusted individuals may begin making payments as early as March 2018 for the fall 2018 term.

When is my student account balance due?

Most university charges (tuition, fees, residence hall room and board, etc.) are viewable on student accounts early-August (fall) and early-January (spring), however rent for university apartments (Aggie Village, Aggie Family, International House and University Village) are billed monthly and therefore cannot be included in the payment plan. The billing due date for all student account balances for each term are as follows:

  • Fall: September 10th
  • Spring: February 10th

For payment plan users, if your payments are kept up-to-date (see payment schedule above) and cover the amount billed to your student account, your account will be paid each term prior to the billing due date.

Note: Due dates are the 10th of the month unless the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case the due date would be the following business day.

Can I enroll to pay summer 2018 charges?

Unfortunately not. You may utilize the payment plan to pay any charges for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Is there a fee to enroll?

Yes. You will incur a one-time fee of $25 for each term you enroll. This fee is nonrefundable and will be deducted from your designated checking or savings account at the time you enroll.

**Please note: If multiple users enroll in the payment plan for one student’s account, only the first user who signs up for the plan will be assessed the enrollment fee. Any subsequent users who enroll in the payment plan for that same student will not be assessed the fee.

If I have multiple students, do I pay only one enrollment fee?

Maybe. If you enroll in the payment plan for multiple students, you may incur multiple enrollment fees if you are the first person to enroll on those students’ accounts. The enrollment fee is a one-time fee per student account, not per FAMweb user.

Can multiple individuals contribute to the same student's account?

Yes. The payment plan accepts multiple participants. If you are participating in the payment plan and you are not a student, your student will need to grant you billing access, via FAMweb, in order for you to sign up for and manage your payment plan.

Do I have to re-enroll each semester?

Yes. Your payment plan will be term-specific (fall or spring).  You may elect to participate in the payment plan whenever you choose, up to six months before your bill is due each semester. Please note that your student account billing due date will remain the same regardless of when you enroll.

Student account billing due dates:

  • Fall: September 10th
  • Spring: February 10th

Note: Due dates are the 10th of the month unless the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case the due date would be the following business day.

How much should I pay?

Use the payment estimator tool* to estimate your monthly payments.

You may pay as little or as much as you would like on the plan, however the maximum amount paid towards your plan cannot exceed the amount of CSU’s tuition, room, board, or fees for an academic term.

You cannot utilize the payment plan to pay university apartment rent (Aggie Village, Aggie Family, International House and University Village) as rent is billed monthly.

Can I adjust monthly payments after I sign up?

Yes. You can adjust your monthly payment amount at any time. Once charges are viewable on your student account (end of July for fall, beginning of January for spring), you may wish to adjust your scheduled monthly payments to avoid over or under-paying. You may also want to make adjustments to your monthly payment amount if there are changes to your financial aid or class schedule.

You can easily change your scheduled monthly payments on your RAMweb or FAMweb account at any time. Please note: you must make any changes by 11:59pm (MST) on the last day of the month in order for those changes to be reflected in the next month’s payment.

Can my plan be cancelled?

Yes. You may cancel your plan at any time, however the $25 enrollment fee is nonrefundable. If you no longer wish to participate in the payment plan, you will be subject to the regular billing terms of the university.

If payments are returned for any reason, there will be a $17 returned check service charge and continuance in the payment plan may be terminated.

Are there any late fees?

If you under-estimate your monthly payment amount and there is a balance remaining by the student account billing due date, you will incur a 1.5% payment deferral charge on your outstanding balance. The payment deferral charge will be assessed each month the bill goes past due until the balance is paid in full. You may also have registration and/or transcript holds placed on your student account.

Student account billing due dates:

  • Fall: September 10th
  • Spring: February 10th

Note: Due dates are the 10th of the month unless the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case the due date would be the following business day.

Can I use the payment plan to bypass a registration hold for a past due balance?

No. If for any reason your balance due is not paid by the time registration opens, a registration hold will be placed on your account and you will need to pay your balance in full before you will be allowed to register.

For payment plan users, if your payments are kept up-to-date and cover the amount billed to your student account, your account will be paid each term prior to when registration opens.

Can I use the payment plan to pay campus housing room and board charges?

It depends. You can pay residence hall room and board charges, but not university apartment rent for Aggie Village, Aggie Family, International House and University Village as these are billed monthly. For questions about billing for housing charges, contact Housing & Dining Services.

How will the payment plan payments be reported on my Form 1098-T?

Payments pulled from your bank account in the months of September through December will not be reported on the 1098-T until the next tax year.  Please rely on your bank statements if you wish to report these payments in the current tax year.

Is there a maximum payment amount?

Yes, each student account has a $40,000 threshold per term.  This means all the plan participants payments combined, per student account, cannot exceed the threshold.

When are refunds issued if an account is overpaid or a plan is cancelled and a refund is due?

Payment plan payments will not be refunded until after assessment runs each term. Assessment for the Fall term happens late July and assessment for the Spring term happens the first week of January. If a refund is due based on overfunding of a payment plan or cancelation of a payment plan, those refunds will begin to generate after assessment has run.
