Students are encouraged to file the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. While Colorado State University does not anticipate receiving FAFSA results from the US Department of Education until mid-March, applying early will help you to receive full consideration for financial aid funding and help us to provide you with critical financial aid information as soon as possible. May 1 is the priority date for CSU Tuition Assistance Grant consideration.
Based on federal timelines communicated to all colleges and universities on January 30, 2024, CSU anticipates beginning to receive FAFSA data by mid-March, and will continue to receive a backlog of applications from the US Department of Education once that process begins. With that timeline as our guide, CSU anticipates releasing financial aid offers in early April for prospective undergraduate students and in early May for continuing undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The earlier you submit your FAFSA and complete any follow-up requests made by the CSU Office of Financial Aid, the more likely you are to have a complete financial aid offer within those timeframes. Note that these timeframes are subject to change depending upon the timing of when the US Department of Education transmits 2024-25 FAFSA information to CSU.
